These photographs accompanied a

story, by writer Anita Bennett, about the

surgery of a 12 year-old girl born with spina

bifida. The surgery was performed " to correct

her scoliosis (curvature of the spine), a

condition that often develops in patients with

spina bifida."


She is a girl with great charm and

courage.
